Cornfest in Moline, IL Early August was delightful in Moline! Great to see the family. Captain Rolly took Vicki, me, Dan and Mike on a tour of the mighty Mississippi. Rolly’s t-shirts are always entertaining. Dan and Vicki’s beautiful home in Moline. We’re pretty sure they trim the lawn with manicure scissors. Shucking corn that was only an hour old. Our youngest shucker, three year-old Harrison, did a terrific job! Fresh picked sweet corn is so tender that it’s dipped in boiling water only long enough to warm the cob, so it can melt butter. No point in using a napkin, because the next ear will be eaten in seconds. Mike is still the Cornfest Champion, tying his record consumption of fifteen ears!
