Snowmobiling in Yellowstone at the end of the season. We had the trails to ourselves – which is actually a little risky., as there was no one to winch us out. Our only problem was that the engine overheated, so we had to keep stopping to pack snow around the engine housing to cool it. We ended up snowmobiling after dark for the last couple of hours, which was EXTREMELY cold. My teeth didn’t stop chattering for an hour!
- Landing in Montana – hello BIG SKY country!
- Look at the load of snow on top of the loo!
- Icicles that are taller than me?
- To warm up… Fireball Tea (recipe: hot water and Fireball Whiskey)
- Why yes, I DO have a mustache!
- Yellowstone was blissfully deserted. Even the bison took the day off!
- Two Top is a truly adventurous snowmobile ride – lots of bowls and cliffs – you just have to be careful where you go!
- Even though some of the snow had melted, you can see how the trees are completely adrift in snow from bottom to top.
