This has definitely been the quietest December we’ve ever had, and the most time ever we’ve spent in Las Vegas. Because of the pandemic, most things are shut down, and most people don’t want to see us anyway. We’ve spent a lot of time playing cards, and I’ve worked hard at physical therapy to rehab my knee after my meniscus surgery. It’s a wonderful thing to love the person you’re cooped up with.
- We’ve spent hours playing Sequence, a fun board game for two.
- Bright lights, big city… but on December 21, Jupiter and Saturn were outshining the Las Vegas Strip. We have some old Chinese binoculars (kind of like a telescope) – so we dragged them out to the deck for the full view.
- Jupiter and Saturn were as close together as they’ve been in 397 years. With the binoculars, we could see the moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn!!!
- Best ZOOM call ever! This was for my Mom’s 90th birthday (she’s the one in the tiara). We were able to wrangle four generations from three different states. Mom said she really felt special, and that’s the best feeling of all.
- Making Merry Physical Therapy!! Clearly I missed the opportunity to be Tiny Tim.
- My new earrings are fashioned after rosemary sprigs – since I’ve been doing so much cooking this year!
- For the Chief Cook, Bottlewasher, Bedmaker and Chauffeur, from the Gimp (that’s me). Gold Stars because he’s been SO GOOD!
