We do live on the Las Vegas Strip, but we’re rarely here. Once the pandemic hit and everything closed down, it became painfully obvious how we live in the middle of a tourist destination. All the hotels, shops and restaurants around us closed. We took advantage of the opportunity to rent bikes and ride right down the middle of the Strip.
- No fountains on display.
- No gondolas and no singers at the Venetian.
- No bread in the stores.
- With appreciation to health care workers.
- MGM Grand is still the largest hotel on the Strip. There are thousands out of work due to the pandemic.
- A sign of hope.
- What an ironic turn of phrase in the era of “social distancing”.
- The “adult” side of Vegas has rolled up the sidewalks. They did try nude hand sanitizer wrestling, but apparently clean fun isn’t lucrative.
- Zooming with some of Mike’s siblings – everyone talking at once, of course!
- The Eiffel Tower had a simple red light to honor the unfailing courage of care workers confronting the coronavirus pandemic.
- Meanwhile, at the Louvre…
- Las Vegas Strip at 5:30pm on a Saturday night.
