This was not your “typical” Lady GaGa concert, if there is such a thing. She’s doing two separate concerts in Vegas – one pop (with thongs, robots and lasers) and one jazz. This jazz concert put the LADY in GaGa. Her raw talent is amazing when applied to the Great American Songbook. The song list included “Lucky Be a Lady”, “Fly Me to the Moon”, “Lush Life”, and “Someone to Watch Over Me”. There was a standing ovation after every single song!
- Lady GaGa’s meat dress on display – more like a jerky dress now!
- Kathy Shelby and I ready for some music! Thanks to her, we scored tickets six months in advance.
- Lady GaGa warmly welcomed her surprise guest, Tony Bennet to a wild standing ovation. At 92, he still does a great “Cheek to Cheek” duet.
- A torchy love song, Lady GaGa has made La Vie en Rose her own.
- A fun little video set up in the lobby, where we were encouraged to express ourselves!
- Old school with a twist of modernity. A full 30 piece world class band with a world-renowned belter out front.
- Lady GaGa shmoozing it up with her band leader, Brian Neuman, who has his own show in Vegas as well.
- Nestled in a strip mall in Vegas Chinatown is an amazing French restaurant that we love – Partage (which is French for sharing).
- Dinner at Partage! This is Pork Secreto – pork shoulder braised with shoyu sauce, smoked with applewood fired at the table.
- Lamb loin baked in a brioche crust with some shredded lemon, and apricot chutney on the side. On the inside, the loin surrounded by more shredded lamb braised in fresh basil with lamb reduction poured on top. Ooo la la!
- For dessert? Fresh berries mixed with nuts, topped with pistachio cake, topped by berry sorbet, topped with meringue, topped with flaming amaretto. Believe me, it was the TOPS!
