Paris in the spring was a delight – cool, dry weather and plenty of flowers. Paris at its best!
- Stunning wisteria is a delight both to the eye and the nose.
- French bread, gloriously free of preservatives, is served fresh daily. French law still requires all bread to be mixed, kneaded, leavened and baked on site. Freezing it is literally illegal.
- That moment when… you take a candid shot at the encouragement of one and the disdain of the other.
- How did the clever French get this pear inside the glass bottle? By strapping the bottle to a baby pear while it ripened and grew. The finishing touch? A little brandy, s’il vous plais.
- Where once a prison stood, all that remains is this monument to the Bastille, which was ground zero for the French Revolution (1789-1799), when the people overthrew the monarchy and took control of the government.

- Pont Neuf is the oldest bridge crossing the Sienne River. Henry III laid the first stone to build it in 1578.

- Gallery of Kings at Notre Dame- each of these is an ancient King of Judah. The original statues, carved in the 13th century, were mistaken for representing the kings of France which led them to be beheaded and destroyed during the French Revolution.
- The day after our trip ended, Notre Dame was engulfed in a huge fire. A sad day for Parisians, tourists all over the world, and Quasimodo.
