Along the road to Seven Lakes, in the heart of the Lakes District, is this sleepy town with only a few thousand people. We’re definitely off the beaten path for English speaking tourists.
- Near the Summer Solstice (Dec 21) must be the perfect time for Scotch Broom.
- Patagonian lamb at an open pit BBQ is very common here. Kind of gory when you first see it.
- Rejoice! Everywhere is here, every moment is now.
- This goose did some lovely modeling for us.

- I totally confused the Nat’l Park rangers with my broken Spanish. They thought I worked for Nat’l Geographic because of my sweater.

- At 65 degrees, this was the only snowman we could find.
