We ran all around Seattle catching the best of the city this summer.
- Not a dry eye at Seattle Center, where we watched 498 immigrants from 83 countries be sworn in as new American citizens on the 4th of July.
- Seattle’s 10,000 pounds of explosives over Lake Union is hard to beat for Fourth of July.
- Washington National Guard was on hand to fire Howitzers during the 1812 Overture fireworks finale. Nothing says America like music composed by a Russian!
- These guys finished to a packed house and a standing ovation, for “An Evening You Will Forget”.
- Mike rooting (apparently not hard enough) for Croatia for the World Cup!
- Great crowd participation for this cheesy “B” movie filmed in Seattle. To say it’s a B movie might be too generous.
- We decided to watch the Blue Angels from the water this year. WOW!
- Blue Angels flying over downtown Seattle.
- Loud? That’s an understatement. Seeing the Blue Angels from the water was thrilling.
- Thank you to Brian and Ellen Kennison for an outdoor R&B concert and picnic in Maple Valley.
- Molly Moon’s organic, wind-powered, women owned, all containers compostable, with the BEST ICE CREAM won Mike’s heart.
- Jennifer and Charles shared a Seattle Pops popsicle with us since we were in the neighborhood.
- Sheryl Crow at St. Michelle Winery. “A Change Will Do You Good”!
- Fighting for our spot of grass with Jill Peters and Gregg Nelson, who helped us score those St. Michelle tickets.
- The best paella we’ve had in the US is at Terra Plata, right here in Seattle.
- The Seafair Torchlight Parade showed us there’s more than one way to get lift in an airplane.
- The Seafair Torchlight Parade fan favorite – Alaska Airlines flight attendant drill team in action!
- The Seafair Pirates (favorite letter R, but they also love the C) aboard the Moby Duck.
