We were lucky enough to score a spot for one of the rare public tours of Amazon’s “the spheres” conservatory/workspace in Seattle. They’re a great addition to the city where modern architecture is popping up everywhere.
- Inside “the spheres”, a trio of round greenhouses for Amazon employees to escape to natural light for break time, lunch or meetings.
- “the spheres”, aka Bezos’ balls, are tucked in at the base of one of Amazon’s um… large vertical office buildings.
- One of the truly strange and wonderful flowers at “the spheres”. Chihuly definitely gets his inspiration from nature.
- An idea of the scale of “the spheres”. At night they can be lit in multiple colors.
- A pitcher plant, the bizarre carnivore whose handsome leaves can catch thousands of nasty insects such as ants, flies, and wasps.
- Outside Nordstrom in Seattle, where Swedish immigrant Johan Nordström (changed to John Nordstrom) started a little shoe sales company in 1901.
- My birthday golf round at Chambers Bay.
- Ready to tee off at the par 3. Score! I made it to the green AND got KP.
- Rainier cherries are definitely the best golf snack of the northwest.
- Just a simple walk down Ruston Way in Tacoma yielded this incredible view of her majesty, Mount Rainier.
- Some people wonder why we love the northwest. It rained for 10 minutes today. Look at this freshly washed view.
- Dungeness crab cocktail at the Pike Place Market.
- Helping Seattle Theater Group (STG) open up the arts to all income levels in Seattle.
- Gussied up for Doors, where we proudly support Seattle Theater Group as donors.
- Leslie Odom Jr., of Hamilton fame, was our entertainment at Doors. What a voice!
