In Tacoma, a big crowd gathered to celebrate the life of Stan Bills, my mother’s husband of 44 years. He was an Air Force bomber pilot during WWII, so we ended the service with formal military honors and by singing the Air Force Song, “Off we go into the wild blue yonder”!
- Stan lived a good long life, passing away at 93 as he was leaving the house for a haircut.
- “On behalf of the president of the United States, the Department of the Air Force, and a grateful nation, we offer this flag for the faithful and dedicated service of Major Stanley Earl Bills.”
- A rare family gathering with Grandma Bev surrounded by her clan.
- My brother, sister and I haven’t been together since 2005.
- The Next Generation: cousins. Missing you, Justin Lind!
- Mom and her three “little ones”.
