Seychelles? A paradise of turquoise water and tropical winds. We had to look at the map before we said yes to the invitation from our friends in Washington, California and Mexico!
- Seychelles is archipelago of 115 islands off the east coast of Africa. Historically ruled by the French and British, it’s been independent since 1976.
- Our home for the next 12 days, a 48ft., four cabin catamaran.
- Our boat is the Tropic Girl.
- Our bareboat charter crew of 8, Jim, me, Kathy, Larry, Mike, Captain Mary, June and Lani.
- Kathy and I, the only non-sailors in the group, are the official “bumper babes”.
- Seychelles is a key participant in the fight against Indian Ocean piracy mainly by Somalis. Patrol boats and drones keep diligent watch.
- Larry and Mike ready to drop anchor.
- Our crew was pretty smooth, but all those lines got tangled from time to time.
- Laundry is done, time to enjoy a cup of green tea.
