The weather was a mixed bag, but we golfed, saw great theater, concerts, baseball and happily chowed down on the salmon as we traveled through Washington and Oregon.
- Seattle Repertory Theater! Here Lies Love was dance floor theater, winding the tale of Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos through a David Byrne score.
- A benefit for Seattle Theater Group allotted a few minutes for me to thank Melissa Etheridge for writing, “Baby You Can Sleep While I Drive”
- Melissa Etheridge: “Come to my window, I’ll be home soon.”
- We stopped in Seattle to catch the always relevant Cabaret at the historic Paramount Theatre.
- Homemade Copper River smoked salmon. I’m in foodie heaven.
- The bounty of the northwest! Sister Kathy and I picked these strawberries from her garden to eat within the hour.
- Gig Harbor, after a day of rain – all is forgiven.
- Mike, John Burnett, Gordy Howins and Pat Towny bundled up for soggy CLUB golf.
- Butch and Jerri and I waited out the storm in the bar.
- Dancing with Butch and Jerri, singing “Does My Butt Look Big in these Jeans’?
- Like a drowned rat after 5 hours of rain.
- I actually ate (and loved) fresh wild salmon for 23 straight days.
- Mother daughter Mariner’s day!
- Toasted grasshoppers tossed in chili lime salt are the new hot menu item at Safeco Field, which was also the first baseball stadium in the US to have sushi.
- One, two… three! They are crunchy, but still kinda gross.
- Portland Golf Club with Jon Bettendorf hosting AND letting me win the betting!
- Portland’s famous Rose Garden highlights the 1944 Peace Rose, from war-torn France, that celebrated victory in WWII.
- Time to stop and… you know.
