THIS is our new most beautiful place in the world. In a quick chairlift, Chamonix has mind blowing summer hiking. Most famous for skiing, the Winter Olympics were held here in 1924.

Hiking in a postcard.

Hard not to stop and gawk at the 360 degree view.

Mike overlooking charming Chamonix valley floor, which is at 3,400 ft.

Mont Blanc, at 15,776 ft. is the grand dame of Europe.

Let’s add in some wildflowers, to make it even more pretty.

Cable cars go on a s-l-o-w crossing between France and Italy across the Alps.
-
-
We were dubious about this cable. Sure enough, a couple of weeks later there was a malfunction requiring helicopter rescues from the cable cars!
-
-
See the tiny hikers? They’re like ants from the cable car.
-
-
We had such incredible weather!

Believe me, I earned my slice of this pie.

We hiked up and back down from the chairlift behind me to get to Lac Blanc.
-
-
The ice and snow leave behind a rocky terrain. Good boots are a must.

-
It felt so good to lose the shoes and dip my feet in the cold alpine lake.

-
Lac Blanc, at 7,716 ft. is one of the most famous hikes in the Alps.

We LOVE this place!
