Seattle was warm and sunny for our weekend with the Mariners and Seattle Harbor Patrol. SHP is a specialized unit dedicated to the protection of life and property on Seattle waters and 200 miles of city shoreline. The officers are all certified divers, and ready with eight high technology boats to handle any water emergency.
- Mariners “Turn Back the Clock” night was full of 80’s music.
- Back to the historic Mariners Trident uniforms.
- In honor of the 80’s, I wore avocado green and brought Sarah. Gwen is having a teenage moment.
- Seattle Harbor Patrol Police let us ride along, thanks to a Boys and Girls Club Auction item.
- Gwen and I waived a lot to the other boats, who must have thought the Police were extra friendly.
- Gwen sporting a new haircut and glasses.
- Their water hoses pump directly out of Lake Union.
- Gwen imagining that she’s putting out a boat fire.
- This is so cool! They’ve even used this to help put out shoreline house fires.
- Gwen paid close attention to driving directions. She did a 180 degree turn under the Aurora bridge!
- GI Joe is ready for action in the tool box.
- The Fremont Bridge is one of the most often raised bridges in the world, as it clears the water by only 30 feet.
