Just north of Las Vegas lies Mesquite, a golfing paradise, as well as the Valley of Fire State Park. The crown jewel of golf in Mesquite is the Wolf Course, which is a roller coaster of a course with huge elevation changes, and equal parts of awe and terror.
- Great round at Falcon Ridge in Mesquite with our golf pro, Tony Emma, here watching his son tee off.
- The Wolf Course in Mesquite – this shot is taken from the highest vantage point.
- The elevation changes at Wolf are unbelievable. This is from the tee box – you’re aiming somewhere right of those gaping sand traps.
- Does this look otherworldly? Valley of Fire was used in many films, including 1,000,000 B.C. and Star Trek Generations.
- Desert Primroses burst from rocky soil to welcome spring.
- Mike checking out the red sandstone, caused by a little iron in the rock that got rusty. That’s true!
- This reminds me of a really fun Play doh project.
- This stretch has undoubtedly been used for car commercials.
- Fire Canyon
- Silica Dome – the white rock is almost pure silica, which is a common food additive.
- Seven Sisters formation – they look like they could talk to each other!
- These beautiful formations were caused by shifting sand dunes back in the dinosaur days.
