Seaside, OR is a relaxing stay along the Pacific west of Portland, OR. Miles and miles of beach to walk. It was maybe not so relaxing and a little more work for Lewis and Clark before the hotels and restaurants got there.
- Lewis and Clark began their journey in St. Louis, MO in May of 1804. In November of 1805, they finally reached Seaside, OR and the Pacific Ocean.
- Flags in Seaside were at half staff in memory of the victims of the mass shooting in nearby Roseburg, OR
- Imagine the bounty of the sea – fresh fish and shellfish for the weary and hungry explorers.
- Lewis and Clark along with their group set up camp, including this crude oven for boiling salt water to make salt, to preserve their provisions for the return trip.
- Any seafood that is fresher than Bell Buoy’s is still swimming.
- Mike admiring some sand castle magic.
- One of many town murals.
- A seagull reflecting on… a seagull.
- Watching the sun melt into the Pacific.
