Can you believe the JFK Presidential Library didn’t open until 1979? It was delayed due to so many things – JFK’s assassination in 1963 followed by RFK’s assassination in 1968. Lyndon Johnson built his in 1971, but didn’t live to see President Jimmy Carter cut the ribbon here in 1979. It’s a dose of 60’s history, complete with extensive video footage and oral history.
