Colorado Springs, CO Colorado Springs is rich in natural beauty. Unfortunately we caught Pike’s Peak on a bad day :( Garden of the Gods mountain range. Two square miles of red rock beauty. The Swiss engineered cog wheel train whisks you from 6,751 to 14,110 ft. in just 45 minutes. Young bucks charging at our train! The train conductor assured us that this waterfall was “higher than Niagra falls”. Minnehaha Falls is actually WAY smaller, but “higher”. Our first clue that the view at the top might not be what we expected. So – we should see Kansas, New Mexico and Colorado from here? Maybe not today, where fog as thick as pea soup enveloped us. Our conductor, whose sole job was to monitor the brakes. Whoa, there. Did you know that America the Beautiful was inspired by Pike’s Peak? Kissing Camels mountain range Our friends Elizabeth and Jim Spittler hosted us for golf at their club in CO Springs. Kissing camels golf course, inspired by the mountain range. Had to be careful not to hit this shaggy mane mushroom in the sand trap! 2015-10-19T18:38:33-07:00October 8th, 2015|Colorado|0 Comments Share This Story, Choose Your Platform!
