In a town as small as Thermopolis, WY (population 3,038) it’s up to the dinosaurs and buffalo to make you feel even smaller. We enjoyed their mineral hot springs in the evening, after the hot weather abated. After the dandy old fashioned 4th of July parade, the fire department gave everyone free popsicles. By the way, did you know the most famous resident of Thermopolis? Thuperman!
- We learned to navigate the handful of streets in town quickly. You should take a LEFT at the Stegasaurus.
- More dinosaurs are found in the US than any other country. This T-Rex was found right here in Wyoming!
- Loved this “bambiraptor” found in Glacier National Park by a 14 year old. About the size of a small dog.
- Smile! A Sailed Synapsid shows how dinosaurs could regenerate their teeth, like sharks.
- At a dinosaur dig, comparing my dainty size 10 foot with a therapod print. He was about 7 ft. tall at the hip.
- Thermopolis, just a stones throw from Yellowstone, claims the “World’s Largest Mineral Hot Springs”
- Park rangers carefully bottle feed a buffalo calf with her wary parents on guard.
- Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam…
- The Fourth of July Parade in Thermopolis was so short, it made two trips around the block. In 15 minutes!
- “Hello, I’m George from Valley Forge”
- An award winning parade entry! The little patriots behind the horse were singing the National Anthem.
- Loved the fireworks display on top of “T” mountain. Check out the bald eagle!
