Red Reflet Ranch is full of calves and foals in the spring. And we were treated to a rare event – a Medieval celebration in honor of spring by the Washakie Museum Group from nearby Worland, WY. We weren’t sure what to expect, but had a wonderful evening of song, dance and laughs from the troupe. What fun!!!
- Our boots are ready for today’s ride.
- An 800 lb. heifer delicately sniffs her calf, born just hours ago.
- Our mission: to match up cows and calves by ear tag. We sent 25 our of 40 through the gate, so we did 62.5% positive work!
- Mason is the son of Clay and Tammy Trollinger, practically born on a horse. He took first prize for roaping a goat in 15.46 seconds.
- The front of her shirt said PETA (people eating tasty animals).
- The ultimate tasty cocktail – a beersicle!
- Great friends – Mikey, Michele, Laurence, Mike, Bob and me.
- Chef Mathew can transform spring zucchini into spring flowers.
- Medieval humor – “My bonnie lass she smelleth, making the flowers jealouth”
- I’ve been called a beanpole, but I’ve never BEEN a maypole!
- Calming the mare, Bunny, so we can have a look at her colt.
- Missin’ LJs Spark, named after Tammy’s mom. Look at the milk hair fuzz.
- Michele and I on our dirt biking lesson. Really! There’s a patch of dirt in front of our trail bikes!
- Mike and Bob dirt biking happily – they were about to get soaked with rain 15 minutes later.
- No dogs or horses were hurt while taking this photo. Only the ego of one cowboy.
- As Clay says, if you can’t tie a knot, tie lots.
