When Hotel Del Coronado opened in 1888, it was
the largest resort hotel in the world.  A long list
of presidents and celebrities have been guests,
including L. Frank Baum, whose extended stay
inspired him to write The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
1927 was the same year my grandparents were
 married.  They honeymooned at the Hotel Del
Coronado, for one special night :) 
Walks along the beach were beautiful,
as always.  You have to love the
timeless romanticism.
