The alarm went off at 4:15 in order for us to
catch this sunrise at Vishnu Point.  After that,
we went back to bed for a 3 hour nap :)
Sunset from the south rim.  This is such a teeny
fraction of the view!
The Colorado river winds its way through the
canyon.  Amazing how tame the rapids look
from this perspective.
Karen and Olav Omdahl joined us (all the way
from Norway!) for this National Parks tour.
Starting with the Grand Canyon, we’ll also see
Bryce Canyon, Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons,
Arches and Yosemite.  As well as Lake Tahoe,
just for good measure, because it’s beautiful
enough to be a National Park.
Mike and Olav were roommates
in pilot training over 40 years
ago.  All that training paid off –
we had plenty of great takeoffs
and landings.
Elk at the south rim were so tame, they practically
posed for photo ops.
