The dories are a kick in the pants in the rapids –
several times we had the boat full to the gunnels
with water.  The voice activated bailing system
worked like a champ.  “BAIL!!!”  And we did!
Dories have been used for centuries as fishing
boats, they have high sides and a flat bottom
with sharp bows.  Really great pitch and roll.
A calm moment between rapids.
Ready for that first rapid – the Colorado River
was only 52 degrees, so it felt like a bucket
of ice water at 8AM.  Brrrrr!
