Where else can you learn really geeky things like
the function of dual fuel atomizers in the ITT
thermocouple?  Cool.
Simulation is where you practice
engine out landings, flaps that stick,
non functioning throttles, all kinds
of good stuff.
Even though our plane is streamlined with four
glass panels, there are still over 300 buttons
to push.
Once in a while they have you close your eyes,
and then the instructor puts you in an “unusual
attitude” – like upside down in a descending
spiral. You have to open your eyes, assess and
correct.  It can get a little nauseating!
