Buffalo are the most dangerous to humans.
Dedicated herbivores, they will charge and kill
if surprised or provoked.  The horns were
shaped like a perfectly styled haircut.
The wildebeast – a truly odd animal,
skinny legs, big shoulders.  Made out of
spare parts!
Mary Leakey, famous anthropologist, gained
fame (and funding from National Geographic)
for her research into early human fossils in
Tanzania.  Not reportedly a good student,
she was told by Oxford in England that she
need not waste time to apply.  She had no
contact with them until they presented her
with an honorary doctoral degree in 1951.
Her pivotal find was “homo
habilis”, or handy man,
the first tool user.
One of our moments of magic in Tanzania – sunrise as appreciated by the giraffe.
