It’s not very often that you have LIONS on
the runway.  Our pilot had to overfly to
shoo a pride away before landing!!
Jet fuel is ordered by the barrel and hand pumped.
No fuel truck in sight.  That’s hard work.
One of the more decorative planes, painted like a
giraffe.  The Maasai warrior was our guard, and ride to the airport.
We packed down to 33 lbs.
 each, including daypacks,
for a month.  Quite a feat
 when you include binoculars,
camera, laptop and a whole
lot of DEET bug wipes.
