Why is the Nat’l WWII Museum in New Orleans?
Because Higgins, the inventor of this boat,
able
to land troops on the beach, was from New Orleans.
In 1943, 92% of the U.S. Navy fleet were boats of Higgin’s
 design. General Eisenhower said
Higgin’s boats,”won the war”.
An amazing visual using toy soldiers.  This
clarifies the size of the U.S. army vs. the
German and the Japanese at the start of WWII.
