How has New Orleans changed 5 years after Hurricane Katrina? According to the 2010 census, the population has dropped by 30%. The demographics have changed, too. A city that used to be 67% African American is now 60% – of a much smaller number. The most alarming statistic is a drop of 44% in the number of children in the city.
