Ahalanui is the Big Island nature’s decadence:
salt water sluiced into a lava “pool” with tiny fish
nibbling at your toes, volcanically heated to 90 degrees of heaven.

Natural steam saunas:  worth the short but gnarly
hike, heated by the volcano.  Locals have built little wooden benches inside.  Yes, we DID squeeze in that little opening – it’s quite spacious
once you get inside.   We didn’t see another soul.
Manta ray night snorkel…this was SO cool!  They shine lights in this bay, which attracts the plankton
followed by the manta rays.  Wing span can be up
to 20 ft – they glide through the water like huge
 prehistoric birds.
