Real archery is tougher than you think, and full of whole new vocabulary (nock point, index vane, fletching). It’s right up there with golf in terms of technique and practice needs. We did OK as far as the targets, but I’m not ready to stand there holding a balloon in my hand while Mike shoots!

After our archery lesson, we moved on to firearms. Colt 45, to be specific, which is also ironically known as the “peacemaker”. It’s just like the old wild west movies, put in 6 bullets, spin the chamber. What surprised me was how heavy it was. And how LOUD it was. If the guys in the wild west really did flip those guns out of their holsters, spin them around their fingers and fire, they were strong. We wore ear protection, but I swear Billy the Kid must have been nearly deaf.
