We took a ride on the Havasupai Indian reservation down to the Colorado River. Havasupai means “people of the blue-green water”, and they’ve called the Grand Canyon area home for over 800 years.
It was hot and dusty, but the donkeys were sure happy to see us! Mike’s brother Rolly fed them apples from the window. We had a picnic lunch down by the Colorado River – even the muddy water felt nice & cool by mid-afternoon. Even if the water was brown, not blue-green!
