Well, it seemed sunny to us, since we’d been rained out in Ireland! Our first view of Scotland included a very welcome rainbow (sunshine being a necessary ingredient :) Light ocean breezes, too.

Our first stop was Turnberry, Scotland which sits on a scenic lighthouse point. In the distance you’ll see an island, called Ailsa Craig, where blue hone granite is quarried to make curling stones. (Yes, that crazy curling that they do in the Olympics.) You’ll note there is an awesome golf course laying right in front of the lighthouse!

The drone of the Scottish Highland bagpipe is a welcome sound at dusk.  The trees are so thick and green it feels like Seattle!!  The traditional Scottish bagpipe song is “Scotland the Brave”.   Here’s a great clip with some scenes of Scotland as well   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSH0eRKq1lE
