SIMCOM is a professional simulator-based flight training facility in Orlando, Florida. We had a full week of simulator training – they have a cockpit mockup that is exactly like our plane, complete with a screen outside the cockpit window that shows the horizon, weather, runways, etc. We spent a week learning about every guage, rivet and computer system (Mike for the second time around). Mike and I each got simulator time of a couple of hours a day where the instructor set up all kinds of emergency scenarios like engine out, runaway trim, electrical failures and running out of fuel. Whew!

I was able to land the simulator well enough that our instructor was willing to take us up in our own plane. The instructor had the left seat, I had the right seat and Mike had the BACK seat. I successfully landed our plane a couple of times from the right seat – good to know in case of emergency. Mike is brimming with pride and recovering from biting his fingernails up to his elbows.
