We solemnly swear, this is the most fun we’ve ever had playing golf! Instead of a cart, we zipped around on Segways in Hilton Head, South Carolina. A Segway is a battery powered gyroscopic personal transportation device. The cool thing when you’re golfing is that you can go anywhere on the course, regardless of the cart signs. You also have an 8″ height advantage, which is handy to see where you’re hitting. Yes, you have to dismount to hit the ball – it wasn’t golf polo. It was so fun, Mike didn’t mind hitting his ball in the woods because it was so danged fun to chase it down!
Courses we played in Hilton Head: Hilton Head Golf Club, Indigo Run, Golden Bear @ Indigo Run, Robert Trent Jones@ Palmetto Dunes, Harbour Town and Arthur Hills @ Palmetto Dunes. The last one was definitely the best – a tough course, though. I shot a record 90 at Arthur Hills on one day, but Mike was money ahead for the week. Not that he’s bragging or anything.
