Moroccan tiles are famous world wide, and the artisanship of tile making has carried on for hundreds of years. The Moroccan government wanted to preserve this timeless Moroccan tradition so it hired artists to decorate public spaces all over Morocco with these beautiful tiles. They can be seen in mosques, floors, walls, and fountains.

The tiles are made and fired in a kiln that uses olive pits for fuel – and they have plenty of olive pits there in Morocco!

Mike is watching an artisan create a table design. It looks like it’s all the same color because he’s creating it facing down. It’s mind boggling how he just knows what color is where in his intricate design. We were so impressed that we bought a small table for our deck.
