The Freedom Trail is 2.5 miles of trail over cobblestones and brick in downtown Boston, leading to 16 historical sites, including Paul Revere's house and the Bunker Hill monument. Yes, we climbed up all 291 steps to the top!
Breakfast at "Clink" restaurant at the Liberty Hotel in Boston, formerly the Charles St. Jail. Built in 1851, they just turned it into a hotel in 2007. www.libertyhotel.com A common offense at the time would have been playing ball in the street, punishable by 2 days in the slammer and a $3 fine. Mike said he slept really well here...felt right at home!
We were surprised to see him...we thought he'd be in Pennsylvania, but apparently he was born in Boston in 1706 and still likes to hang around here. He's getting up in years, though, good thing he invented those bifocals!
