Rebuilding Together Seattle 2007

Below is just part of our wonderful deck painting crew. Other jobs included roof, fence and window box repair, install of new pantry floor and install of 6 second story through-the-wall air conditioners. Wow. On top is a shot of the whole group - amazing job, everyone!!

Rebuilding Together Seattle 2007

A little remake of their vegetable garden! There were two of these - we dug them out, put down weed barrier cloth & new soil and plants. The residents here really like to see plants from the garden end up on their plate!

Rebuilding Together Seattle 2007

Before (top) and after (bottom). About 40 people attacked this project and many others in one day. Rainier Investment Management employees along with Ironworkers and Carpenters rebuilt and landscaped this retaining wall area for the Lincoln Group Home for the mentally disabled. The railroad ties here weight 500lbs apiece!!

Skiing at Whistler, BC Canada

We think this photo below might be the mascot for the 2010 Olympic Games to be held in Vancouver, BC. Looks like a Stonehenge stick man - not sure how they sell this as a fuzzy stuffed animal, but I'm sure they'll figure it out.

By the way, we did NOT ski the black diamond (Mike'll save that for the guy trips). Just lots of blues and greens - spring skiing at it's finest.

Hiking the Indian Ruins Moab, UT

It was a steep hike up rock, sand and crumbly clay but after an hour we got to this entire village of Indian Ruins. There must have been a community of 50 people or so here. Very similar to Mesa Verde, but you can still crawl through them. Not only was the brick work amazing, but there were petroglyphs and spots on the wall where they sharpened arrowheads. The views from the top were spectacular - they picked out some fine real estate to settle on.
